Abstract
This study examines the role of social identity in maintaining the solidarity of the Classic Surabaya Student community. Social identity is an important aspect of an individual's self-concept that comes from membership in a particular social group. This research uses the theory of social identity which was first introduced by Henri Tajfel in the 1970s. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that a strong social identity helps form solidarity among community members, increases pride and creates strong emotional bonds. A strong social identity also encourages active participation in group activities, helps to create good interpersonal relationships, and minimizes conflicts between members. This research provides recommendations through activities that can strengthen social identity and solidarity in the Classic Surabaya Student community
