Abstract

The Surabaya City Government has innovated public transportation services in the form of the Suroboyo Bus Program as a concrete step to reduce congestion in the City of Surabaya. However, there are still several obstacles found in the Suroboyo Bus service, such as the operation of the Suroboyo Bus, which does not yet have a special lane, thus triggering traffic jams and the Suroboyo Bus route is still limited and does not even reach all areas of Surabaya City. The aim of this research is to evaluate: (1) The process and impact of the Suroboyo Bus program service innovation in realizing sustainable public transportation in the City of Surabaya and (2) Inhibiting and supporting factors for the Suroboyo Bus program service innovation in realizing sustainable public transportation in the City of Surabaya. This research method uses qualitative descriptive research. The results of this research are: (1) The process and impact of the Suroboyo Bus program service innovation in realizing sustainable public transportation in the city of Surabaya, namely UPTD PTU Suroboyo Bus. The Transportation Service as the Suroboyo Bus operator focuses on providing convenience and creating trust for the public to use Suroboyo Bus public transportation. by continuing to strive to make payments easier, access locations with tracking, inform the operating hours by sharing on Instagram social media. The impact can be seen from the increase in the number of Suroboyo Bus passengers every year and (2) Factors inhibiting service innovation for the Suroboyo Bus program in realizing sustainable public transportation in the city of Surabaya include: income factors, ability and skills factors, and service facilities factors. Whereas Supporting factors include: awareness factors, regulatory factors, and organizational factors. The conclusion in this research is that the Surabaya City Transportation Department needs to do increasing the number of Suroboyo Bus units and routes which are increasingly spread throughout the city of Surabaya.
