Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of death myths in Nadin Amizah's music video "Semua Aku Dirayakan" using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method. The research aims to uncover and interpret visual signs and lyrics related to death myths in Javanese culture, as depicted in the music video. Through Barthes' semiotic approach, this study analyzes the denotative and connotative meanings and the myths contained in each Scene and song lyrics. The analysis reveals that the music video "Semua Aku Dirayakan" represents several death myths believed by Javanese society, such as the selametan ritual, the use of Jarik cloth as a shroud, and the concept of the afterlife. The research findings demonstrate that through her audiovisual work, Nadin Amizah successfully portrays the complexity of death myths in Javanese culture while reflecting contemporary society's views on death. This study provides new insights into how traditional myths are represented in modern popular media and how they influence society's perception and attitude toward deatH. The results contribute to a deeper understanding of the intersection between traditional cultural beliefs and modern artistic expression, highlighting the enduring relevance of ancestral myths in contemporary Indonesian society.
