Abstract

In the midst of the use of technology in banking transactions and online gambling, it is important to pay attention to PPATK's authority in paying close attention and the need for preventive efforts. With the rise of online gambling itself, it is important to conduct research regarding the authority of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center in preventing and eradicating TPPU from the proceeds of criminal acts. online gambling. The formulation of the problem that will be discussed in this research is how PPATK's authority is in preventing and eradicating suspicious financial transactions resulting from criminal acts in online gambling and what PPATK's authority is regarding procedures for blocking accounts of customers involved in online gambling. The purpose of this research is to find out and understand the authority of PPATK in preventing and eradicating suspicious financial transactions resulting from criminal acts in online gambling; and to know and understand PPATK's authority regarding procedures for blocking customer accounts involved in online gambling. The type of research used is normative legal research. The approach methods used in this research are the statutory approach method, the conceptual approach method and the case approach method. The research results show that PPATK's authority in preventing and eradicating suspicious financial transactions resulting from criminal acts in online gambling is to carry out analysis or examination of Financial Transaction reports and information that indicate criminal acts of money laundering in online gambling activities, coordinating with the police to accelerate online gambling activities, and PPATK is tasked with collecting and processing suspicious information related to money laundering in online gambling. PPATK's authority regarding procedures for blocking accounts of customers involved in online gambling includes cooperation carried out by PPATK with related parties as outlined with or without formal forms of cooperation. In preventing and eradicating TPPU, PPATK exchanges information in the form of requesting, giving and receiving information. In the case of this exchange of information, it can be done on one's own initiative or at the request of the authorities.
