Abstract

Dalam 5 sampai 10 tahun mendatang Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir Benowo di kota Surabaya akan penuh jika tidak dikelolah dengan sistem PLTSa atau mengkonversikan sampah menjadi sumber terbarukan yaitu energi listrik. berdasarkan data dari Dinas Lingkungan Hidup perhitungan loud count analysis kenaikan input sampah 5% pertahunnya. Adanya PLTSa di Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir sangat berpengaruh dalam kota Surabaya, Timbulan sampah hingga saat ini tingginya 25 meter dengan adanya gas metan yang mudah meledak dalam sumur sebanyak 33 sumur vertical dan horizontal. Pengembangan sistem pada gasifikasi yang akan menghasilkan lebih banyak daripada sistem landfill dengan menghabiskan lahan seluas 20 Ha. Sistem gasifikasi mampu memproses 1.000 ton sampah perharinya dengan pengganti batu bara yang materialnya tidak ramah lingkungan dan juga upaya bisa menggapai target Indonesia menjadi negara zero emisi karbon pada tahun 2050. Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir Benowo menggunakan konsep “Waste to Energy” dimana mempertimbangkan proses pengelolaan sampah agar tidak merusak lingkungan. Kapasitas dalam PLTSa sangat diperhitungankan karena mempengaruhi hasil dari pencapaiannya sampah yang ditimbun di TPA Benowo. Dengan mempengaruhi aspek Kesehatan dan juga kenyamanan bagi masyarakat yang tinggal didaerah dekat dengan TPA. Lahan seluas itu yang digunakan untuk landfill bisa dihabiskan ditimbunan sampahnya oleh sistem gasifikasi lalu lahannya bisa dialih fungsikan untuk wisata edukasi di TPA agar mengubah paradigma masyarakat tentang lahan di TPA yang bau kotor dan kumuh karena jika bisa dialih fungsikan memberikan dorongan dan dukungan masyarakat agar peduli dengan lingkungan dan Kesehatan dan juga mengetahui cara mengelolah sampahnya.
