Abstract

Kabupaten gresik merupakan sebuah daerah yang memiliki cerita panjang akan penyebaran islam di tanah jawa. Gresik merupakan daerah penyebaran islam pertama di tanah jawa, tepat nya di pesisir kabupaten gresik yang pertama kali di sebarkan oleh maulana malik ibrahim atau lebih di kenal sebagai sunan gresik. Selain sunan gresik ada juga sunan giri yang menyebarkan islam di kabupaten gresik, hingga gresik di kenal sebagai kota para wali. Julukan ini bukan tanpa dasar, karena gresik merupakan satu satunya daerah yang penyebaran islamnya di lakukan oleh lebih dari satu wali yaitu sunan gresik dan sunan giri. Dengan panjangnya cerita islam di gresik, gresik belum memiliki suatu wadah untuk dapat menyimpan cerita sejarah dari penyebaran islam di jawa yang dilakukan oleh walisongo. Sejalan dengan RIPDA Kabupaten gresik tahun 2013-2015 gresik memerlukan sebuah wadah yang dapat menyimpan dan menceritakan kisah dan perjuangan dari walisongo, maka Perancangan museum walisongo di kabupaten gresik ini di rancang untuk mejadi suatu wadah untuk mneyimpan cerita sejarah dari walisongo dan juga dapat mejadi ikon gresik kota para wali. dengan pendekatan arsitektur neo vernakular dengan tetap menjaga ciri khas dari kabupaten gresik sendiri. Pada perancangan museum walisongo di gresik menggunakan filosofi memayu Hayuning Bawana. Filosofi ini merupakan kearifan masyarakat jawa yang diarahkan untuk menjaga keharmonisan hubungan manusia dengan manusia, manusia dengan alam serta manusia dengan sang pencipta. Filosofi ini diterapkan dalam rancangan untuk menggambarkan kehidupan masyarakat Jawa seperti arsitektur yang dirancang secara bermakna. perancangan museum walisongo ini merupakan rancangan museum yang di harapkan dapat menggambarkan perjalanan walisongo dalam menyebarkan islam di tanah jawa.
