Abstract

Along with the increase in an area or settlement, it is expected to affect the increase in the number of private vehicle ownership, which will affect the capacity of the road network and have an impact on problems in efforts to develop the city's transportation system. The number of private vehicles owned by each household in a residential area is one of the determining factors in the number of modes used in travel. To anticipate these traffic problems, a study is needed to determine the number of private vehicle ownership in households for the current and future mode selection. This is the researcher's goal to analyze the characteristics of family income, fuel expenditure per week, travel vehicle ownership and get the relationship between household income and fuel expenditure per week respectively to vehicle ownership (Amount). In analyzing the data, the researcher used the multiple linear regression analysis method to generate relationships in numerical form and see how variables are interbound. In data collection, questionnaire distribution methods and interviews (in-depth interview) were used to collect research samples. This data collection is carried out to determine the characteristics of households. The following is the best model, namely Y = 1.987 + 0.175 X1 + 0.755 X2 and the results of the influence of each variable show that the Total Family Income (X1) has a low level of relationship with the number of vehicles owned by 37.5% and the amount of fuel expenses per week of the family (X2) has a very strong relationship level with the number of vehicles owned by 83%.
