Abstract

As time goes by, the need for transportation is increasing, whether used as public transportation or as a means of transporting goods. The city of Sidoarjo, as one of the big cities in East Java, has problems with traffic growth, namely frequent traffic jams. This happens on some roads in the Sidoarjo area, such as on the Waruh area road, where traffic jams often occur, causing increased travel times during rush hour. Not only is Waru Road experiencing traffic jams, but also at the intersection on the Raya Jati Sidoarjo - Kahuripan Housing section. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out an analysis of unsignalized intersections to determine the performance at these unsignalized intersections. Data analysis was carried out using the MKJI 1997 method, this research was carried out for 1 week. Based on the survey that has been carried out, the data obtained is traffic volume, direction of movement and type of vehicle. The data used is data on Friday afternoon with a degree of saturation of 1.2. The results of the research showed that the highest traffic volume at unsignalized intersections on the Jalan Raya Jati - Kahuripan Housing section occurred on Friday afternoon at 3511 pcu/hour. Its capacity is 2810 pcu/hour and the performance of unsignalized intersections with type 322 intersections peaks on Friday afternoons, the degree of saturation is 1.2 and the delay is 60 seconds. As the volume of vehicles increases, there is a need for alternatives and appropriate traffic engineering to handle conditions at unsignalized intersections on the Jalan Raya Jati - Kahuripan Housing section. re-planning to improve the capacity and performance of unsignalized intersections at the research location, carrying out geometric widening of the road as well as carrying out lane changes and also installing traffic signs in order to improve the level of road service.
