Abstract

Public transportation is an essential component of modern urban life. Commuter trains play a strategic role in connecting various areas within a city or metropolitan region. Efficient and reliable commuter train services are key to addressing urban mobility challenges such as traffic congestion, air pollution, and the increasing demand for mobility. This research was conducted in response to intense complaints on social media regarding several critical issues, such as reduced passenger capacity, inadequate seat comfort, and disruptive noise levels. Performance analysis of the Arjonegoro commuter service on the Surabaya Pasar Turi - Babat route is necessary to improve the quality of service provided, as this train is a relatively new route. The study uses the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method, with data obtained from a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents. The study found an average satisfaction score for service performance and importance levels at 85.69%. The calculation based on the Likert scale showed an average service performance score of 3.75 and an average importance score of 4.19. Priorities for improving the Arjonegoro commuter service on the Surabaya Pasar Turi - Babat route include comfortable seating, air conditioning, luggage racks, and handrail facilities for standing passengers.
