Abstract
Material Al 6061 adalah baja karbon sedang yang biasanya kita jumpai pada part-part otomotif, Paduan alumunium ini memiliki sifat mampu cor yang baik, ringan serta tahan terhadap korosi sehingga banyak digunankan untuk komponen otomotif seperti part-part motor. seiring berjalannya waktu pemakaian komponen akan mengalami kegagalan. Untuk meningkatkannya dan memperbaiki kualitas produk tersebut dilakukan perlakuan panas T6, tujuan perlakuan panas T6 ini adalah untuk memperkuat kekerasan paduan Al 6061 dan juga dilakukan uji struktur mikronya. Perlakuan panas T6 meliputi tahap: heat treatment, quenching dan artificial aging. Proses tersebut saling berpengaruh untuk menentukan hasil akhir sifat mekanik yang dicapai. Variabel yang digunakan yaitu temprature dan pendinginan, temprature yang digunakan di temprature 185℃, 215℃ dan 245℃ dengan waktu penahanan 6 jam dan pendinginan menggunakan media pendingin air, solar dan oli sae 40. Pengujian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan peningkatan sifat kekerasan dan struktur mikro pada alumunium 6061. Hasil dari pengujian ini untuk semua media pendingin (air, solar dan oli) semakin meningkat temprature aging semakin menurunkan tingkat kekerasan material. Hasil pengujian kekerasan yang telah dilakukan didapat nilai kekerasan tertinggi 52,43 HRB pada perlakuan panas aging 185℃ dengan media pendingin solar. Hasil nilai kekerasan terendah didapat 13,73 HRB pada suhu aging 245℃ dengan pendinginan oli. Kata kunci : alumunium paduan, Al 6061, perlakuan panas, sifat kekerasan dan struktur mikro
