Abstract

UD Trisman is one of the industries that produces various mattresses made of brass. The company faces challenges in the production of its products due to the non-ergonomic position of the workers. As a result, workers are uncomfortable in their tasks, leading to suboptimal production results. To address these issues, this research involves Anthropometric calculations using the Nordic Body Map and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) methods, as well as Productivity calculations to assess the comparison before and after the design of a scroll saw machine. The Anthropometric measurements resulted in Shoulder Width (44.55 cm), Shoulder Height (60.19), Arm Length (70.24), Elbow Height (78.30), Thigh Length (54.55), and Knee Height (54.43). Subsequently, assessments of fatigue levels were conducted using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) methods. The NBM method yielded a score of 56, classified as a moderate risk level, prompting the design of a Scroll Saw machine to reduce worker fatigue. After implementing the Scroll Saw machine, the NBM score from the worker questionnaire decreased to 35, indicating a low-risk level and no need for further improvement. In contrast, the pre-existing REBA score was 4, indicating a moderate risk level that required action to change the tools used by UD Trisman's workers into the Scroll Saw machine. After adopting the Scroll Saw machine, the REBA score decreased from 4 to 1, placing it in a category where the risk level can be ignored, and no further improvements are necessary. The production results improved from 16 pieces per day to 28 pieces per day.
