Abstract

The low ratio of entrepreneurship in Indonesia is due, among other things, to a mindset that is still oriented towards finding work rather than creating work and a lack of courage in taking risks so that interest in entrepreneurship is low. Based on interviews conducted with several students of the Business Administration study program at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya, the majority chose jobs as clerks/employees for reasons of salary provisions as employees, lack of sufficient capital, lack of mental preparedness, and fear of not being able to face the risks that arise in the environment. future. Efforts to foster interest in entrepreneurship can be done by using social media as a means to carry out entrepreneurship easily, cheaply, and with fewer risks, and Life Skills to influence mindsets to increase courage to face problems, especially in entrepreneurship. This research aims to determine and analyze the influence of the use of social media and life skills on entrepreneurial interest in business administration students at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya. This research uses quantitative research methods. The sample used was 80 Business Administration students from the 2019-2020 class. The sampling technique uses a probability sampling method with simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique is in the form of a questionnaire. In this research, the data analysis techniques used are the classical assumption test, multiple linear regression test, and hypothesis testing. The results of the research show that the variables Use of Social Media and Life Skills partially have a significant effect on Entrepreneurial Interest in Business Administration students at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya. Meanwhile, simultaneously, the use of Social Media and Life Skills has a significant effect on the interest in entrepreneurship among Business Administration students at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya.
