Abstract
This research was conducted in the city of Surabaya. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of large and medium industries on labor absorption in the city of Surabaya in 2020-2022. This research uses quantitative methods with secondary data. The data used is the number of large and medium industrial companies, the number of workers absorbed obtained from the industry and labor office (DISPERINAKER) The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis and panel data regression analysis to test the hypothesis. To select a model, there are several tests that must be carried out, namely the Chow test, the Husman test, and the Legrange Multiplier test. Based on the results of the calculation of Eviews version 12 which shows that the large industry variable (X1), and medium industry (X2) both partially and jointly on the labor absorption variable (Y). This can be determined by the results of the t test to determine the effect partially and the F test to determine the effect together. The influence of X1 and X2 variables on Y is 11% and the remaining 89% is explained by other variables.
