Abstract

PT. Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is a cement manufacturing company with operations across Indonesia. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk produces similar products such as ready-mix concrete and other construction materials. The company uses grinding balls in the process of refining cement in the finish mill. Maintenance is carried out through preventive measures to avoid the thickness of grinding balls during the cement production process. Based on calculations, the Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) is found to be 14 days, and the Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) is 11 days, with maintenance taking approximately 3 hours each time. Maintenance costs for critical components have been calculated by comparing preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance costs, resulting in savings of Rp.112.835.195 or approximately 35,41%. Losses in cement production, especially related to recycling, provide valuable information. Issues identified in the analysis reveal several potential problems and provide practical solutions to reduce losses. A specific focus on the variability of the quality of recycled materials highlights risks associated with the variation in quality and strength of the produced cement. This uncertainty is a critical factor that can increase the risk of losses in production.
