Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out and explain how the regulations and criminal liability of the parties involved in online prostitution are regulated. In writing, it uses normative research methods, using a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. Quoting from Peter Mahmud Marzuki, normative legal research is a process of finding legal rules, legal principles and legal doctrines to answer the legal issues faced. From the legal research that has been carried out using the research mentioned previously, it can be concluded that online prostitution has not been specifically regulated but can be found in the Criminal Code and outside the Criminal Code. In the Criminal Code, there are articles that can specifically be used to ensnare pimps and service users in online prostitution activities. Rules for ensnaring commercial sex workers outside the Criminal Code are found in Law Number. 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography, and Law Number Law Number. 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions. The parties involved in online prostitution are pimps, commercial sex workers and service users. Criminal liability of the parties involved in online prostitution if these parties fulfill the elements in the Criminal Code regulations or outside the Criminal Code which regulate online prostitution, then the parties involved in online prostitution can be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable law. That criminal liability for the parties involved in this online prostitution case will very much depend on the facts that have been discovered so that this law is designed to be able to provide punishment to individuals who are involved in this illegal act.
