Abstract

The accurate decision-making regarding careers is highly crucial for students majoring in Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) at SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya in this digital era. Reminder the goals set for SMK graduates who are required to enter the workforce. The importance of improving the quality of education is also prioritized and significantly influences the company's qualification selection when choosing its employees. Consequently, these students often face difficulties in choosing a career for employment or continuing their education at the higher education level after graduation. The decision to choose the right university and workplace has a long-term impact on their careers and future success. However, in the matter of selecting a university, TKJ students must consider various factors such as accreditation, majors, facilities, costs, location, and tuition fees. Furthermore, when it comes to employment, TKJ students must consider various factors required by companies, such as attendance, attitude, violations, and academics. To overcome the complexity of this issue, a decision support system is needed to assist TKJ students at SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya in their career counseling. A decision support system is a method used to help decision-making by integrating relevant data and information with predetermined criteria. One of the methods that can be used in this decision support system is the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The SAW method assigns weights to each relevant criterion and ranks each alternative university and job based on the predetermined weights. The findings of this research involve developing a career counseling decision support application for twelfth-grade students using the SAW method based on a website. This application will provide benefits to TKJ students at SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya. Thus, with the existence of this decision support system, which can be easily accessed through the website, it is expected that TKJ students can obtain up-to-date information about various universities and jobs relevant to their interests and talents.
