Abstract

Teaching Techniques in the Department of Network Computer Engineering SMKN 2 Surabaya focuses on developing the potential of students, especially high achieving students who show special talents and skills in various fields. Teachers play a role when guiding and educating students to reach their full potential. So, the focus of this study aims to analyze the determination of favorite teachers and superior students from predetermined criteria so that they succeed in motivating and developing teachers and students at SMKN 2 Surabaya. This study implements the SAW method, namely Simple Additive Weighting, which is useful as a determinant for calculating multi-parameters (criteria that have sub�criteria) that predict the relative value of each parameter, then produces the ranking of favorite teachers and superior students. The parameters used for favorite teachers are attendance, delivery of material, behavior, and inspiring students. Parameters implemented for superior students are attendance, violation points, attitudes, and skill competency tests. Then, the results of using the SAW method in determining the ranking of favorite teachers and superior students are in accordance with the calculation of the weight of each specified criterion.
