Abstract

Laptops are one of the supporting media to do daily work, especially those who work as employees in a company or students to support their learning activities. The laptop was chosen because of its small dimensions and easy to carry everywhere. The components found on a laptop are the same as those in a Personal Computer (PC). However, the only difference between the two is the size of the components. The selection of a laptop becomes difficult, especially for consumers who do not understand the specifications of the laptop because there are many factors that influence it, such as the model, screen size and specifications. If there is an error in the purchase will be very detrimental to the consumer. The problem that consumers usually face is the mistake of choosing a laptop for gaming, design and office. Choosing a laptop consists of various factors that must be considered, which must adjust to the needs, the type and brand of the laptop selected, and the specifications contained in the laptop. The purpose of this research is to design and create a system which, by using the Simple Additive Weighting method, is expected to be able to assist prospective laptop buyers in determining the choice of laptop according to the desired criteria. Making this system has several stages, namely Planning, System Analysis, System Design, System Development, System Testing to Report Generation.
