Abstract
Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach wall or mucous lining which increases every year. Pain in the epigastrium or solar plexus is one of the symptoms of gastritis. This health problem is now quite common in society. Gastritis is the most frequently diagnosed disease because the diagnosis depends on the symptoms present. This disease often appears suddenly accompanied by symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, pain, bleeding, feeling weak, decreased appetite, or headache. To reduce this risk, it is necessary to increase public awareness about gastritis. In this study used the Certainty Factor method which can measure the level of certainty of a fact. The Forward Chaining method is also used to determine the results of the diagnosis based on existing rules. Therefore, an expert system application was created that can implement both methods which are expected to help the general public to diagnose gastritis at an early stage.
