Abstract

Mangrove forests in Indonesia play a crucial role in preserving the country's maritime ecosystem. However, a significant portion of these forests has been converted into shrimp ponds, plantations, and agricultural land. To address this issue, this research aims to develop mangrove ecotourism in the village of Patuguran, Pasuruan Regency. The development process involves an organic architectural approach to create a harmonious ecotourism design that aligns with the surrounding environment. The fundamental concept utilized is Natural Elebarosi, which integrates conservation, education, and entertainment into a complex ecotourism system. The study aims to enhance the functionality and benefits of mangrove ecotourism while providing positive impacts for the coastal communities in Patuguran. The principles of ecotourism, such as conservation, education, and sustainability, serve as the foundation for this development. When designing ecotourism, it is essential to consider building form, material selection, and environmentally friendly strategies to minimize negative impacts on the surrounding nature. By employing an organic architectural approach, the envisioned design of mangrove ecotourism in Patuguran, Pasuruan Regency, aims to create an environment that is in harmony with nature while delivering a sustainable experience of conservation, education, and entertainment.
