Abstract
The Ken Arok Sports Building in Malang City is a type A sports facility serving the regional or provincial level, with an audience capacity of up to 3000-5000 people. This gorge is used as a venue for various events, both sporting and non-sport events. Unfortunately, some of the facilities and infrastructure in the building are still unable to support the needs of building users. One of the problems found in buildings is such as building lighting that is less than optimal so that it requires artificial lighting during the day. Then for circulation and the need for parking the building also does not meet the standards so that a redesign needs to be done in this building. In addition, the open space on the site has not been planned properly so that land efficiency is seen to be not optimal. So that redesign is the answer to solving these problems. The redesign of this building uses an ecotech architectural approach which has principles that keep up with the times and pay attention to environmental factors so that the building can be more environmentally friendly and can attract more visitors to come. The application of ecotech architecture to buildings includes site planning by taking into account natural factors, maximizing natural lighting in buildings, selecting structures, and building shapes.
