Abstract

Dengan banyaknya beban induktif yang dipakai yaitu motor 3 fasa dan mesin las telah menyebabkan rendahnya faktor daya pada sistem kelistrikan di PT SUNRISE STEEL. Pada industri ini terdapat 2 tempat produksi baja lapis yang bernama Continous Galvalume Line 1 dan Continous Galvalume Line 2. Terdapat 6 trafo yang menyuplai daya pada kedua tempat tersebut, tetapi ada 2 trafo yang mempunyai faktor daya sangat rendah, dimana Trafo 1 (Continous Galvalume Line 2) sudah terpasang kapasitor bank namun faktor dayanya masih rendah yakni senilai 0,67 dan Trafo 3 (Continous Galvalume Line 1) senilai 0,66. Penambahan Capasitor Bank tentu sangat dibutuhkan guna meningkatkan nilai faktor daya pada kedua sistem kelistrikan tersebut. Pada penelitian ini menargetkan kenaikan faktor daya menjadi 0,98, dimana pada Trafo 1 (Continous Galvalume Line 2) membutuhkan penambahan kapasitor 1000 kVAR dengan menggunakan teknik kompensasi manual sebanyak 10 step dan pada Trafo 3 (Continous Galvalume Line 1) membutuhkan kapasitor 150 kVAR dengan menggunakan teknik kompensasi manual sebanyak 6 step. Metode kompensasi yang digunakan pada keduanya ialah metode kompensasi global, kapasitor akan dipasang pada 1 tempat yaitu pada masing-masing LVMDP keduanya. ETAP digunakan untuk mensimulasikan hasil perhitungan yang didapat dan memperoleh selisih dibawah 1% dengan hasil simulasi. Hasil penghematan ekonomis bulanan yang telah didapatkkan setelah penambahan kapasitor bank pada Trafo 1 (Continous Galvalume Line 2) sebanyak Rp. 424.236.735,- dan pada Trafo 3 (Continous Galvalume Line 1) sebanyak Rp. 5.469.572,-.
