Abstract
Trading in general is a basic economic concept that includes buying and selling of goods and services. Profits from trading activities are obtained from the protection that a buyer has on a seller, or the exchange of goods or services between two parties. Trade can not only be done with people from the same country, but also globally which is called international trade. The international trade market offers tougher competition. This also has an impact on creating more competitive prices. Currently cases of fraud in online trading applications are peaking due to the lack of knowledge of the public who only want high profits. The fraud caused the loss of the victims' assets while the perpetrators were sentenced to prison. Furthermore, this study aims to examine how legal protection is provided to victims of fraud and embezzlement in online trading applications. While the type of research used is normative law with the approach of statutory regulations, conceptual approach, and case approach. The research results obtained are that legal protection for victims so that the victims' rights are fulfilled and protected in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act and the concept of a restorative justice approach, several attempts by victims to obtain their property rights are obtained, namely compensation efforts based on acts against the law or default; efforts to apply for a merger of cases of compensation for damages; and efforts to apply for restitution to the court through the Witness and Victim Protection Agency.
