Abstract
In the world. there are many large and small industries. In realizing technological development, many efforts are made to create new works with minimum costs and obtain results that can develop the industrial world. However, the processing process is still very low, so often in the industrial world, used metal is not used properly and is thrown away for free. Therefore, it is necessary to use used metal or industrial waste to make metal powder by means of a pressing process using a heating device so that the metal powder becomes solid. This study intends to determine the effect of variations in compaction pressure and composition variations on density and hardness values with an alloy of iron powder (Iron powder) and local coconut shell powder (carbon). The compaction variations used were 7000 psi, 8000 psi, 5000 psi with a holding time of 10 minutes and composition variations of 1.2.3% with a sintering temperature of 1000°C with a holding time of 90 minutes.
