Abstract
PK Rosella Baru is engaged in the manufacturing industry of plastic sack packaging. In the production process, there are inevitably product errors that do not meet specifications or defects, one of which occurs during the weaving process, such as sacks with holes, repaired broken threads, and loose sacks. Production data for the year 2022 shows that the defects exceed 2% of the company's regulations. The research is conducted with the aim of determining the level of quality control for sack products, identifying the causes of product defects, and proposing improvements to reduce the defect rate. The methods used are Statistical Process Control (SPC) and PDCA, which aim to reduce the defect rate. Based on the calculations and analysis of SPC, three types of defects are identified, with sack with holes being the dominant defect, amounting to 4,494 kg or 48% of the total. Furthermore, during the control chart calculation, it is found that 5 sample data points are outside the control limits. The cause-and-effect diagram reveals factors such as human, machine, raw materials, methods, and the environment that can cause defects. Based on the PDCA results, a proposal for improvement is made, which involves creating written Standard Operating Procedures and check sheets for machine control. Keywords : Quality, Sack, SPC, PDCA
