Abstract
Furniture company PT. Romi Violeta is engaged in the field of rattan and wood products for the global market. They offer solid rattan, knockdown (K/D) wooden furniture, indoor furniture, lightweight aluminum furniture, and other decorative accessories. The problem encountered during the production process is frequent breakdowns, especially in the finger joint machine, caused by hydraulic and cutter components. Therefore, the objectives of this research are: first, to determine the average time between failures of the hydraulic and cutter components in the finger joint machine. Second, to determine the average repair time for the hydraulic and cutter components in the finger joint machine. Third, to develop a maintenance scheduling for the hydraulic and cutter components in the finger joint machine. Through the distribution adequacy test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method, it was found that the average time between failures was 31 days for the hydraulic component and 36 days for the cutter component. The average repair time was found to be 38.36 minutes for the hydraulic component and 34.22 minutes for the cutter component. Then, a preventive maintenance schedule was determined, which is every 31 days with a reliability value of 50.71% for the hydraulic component, while for the cutter component, the preventive maintenance schedule is every 31 days with a reliability value of 48.86%. The cost before and after implementing the preventive scheduling was reduced from Rp. 5,200,000 to Rp. 1,210,847. Keywords: hydraulics, cutter, downtime, preventive maintenance, scheduling
