Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group counseling on the psychological adjustment of health workers who have a neuroticism personality. This study held in one the first and advanced level health facilities in Surabaya. This research is using quantitative, pre-experimental methods. The type of experimental design used is a re-treatment design (one group pre and posttest design) which is an experimental design that only uses one group of subjects (single case) and takes measurements before and after intervention to the subject. The purpose of this research is to see the impact of group counseling on the psychological adjustment of health workers who have a neuroticism personality. This research was conducted on health workers with neuroticism personality who have poor psychological adjustment with a total sample of 5 health workers. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling method. The results showed an increase in psychological adjustment to health workers after being given group counseling intervention as indicated by the t-count value of 13.582 with sig 0.000 (p < 0.05), so it can be concluded that group counseling is effective in increasing the psychological adjustment of health workers who have a neuroticism personality.
