Abstract

The company implements a system to monitor the quality of production in order to obtain product quality standards that are able to challenge business competition both locally and outside the region. The target for product defects standardized by the company is a maximum of 5% of the total production target in 1 month. When the value of production defects reaches a quality value of defects above 5%, a tightening of production targets and an increase in production volume will be carried out to obtain the desired amount. To overcome this problem, an analysis using the Six Sigma Quality Control Method is required. The Six Sigma Quality Control Method begins with the first stage of six sigma is Define, action plans that must be carried out to carry out improvements from each stage of the key business processes. Then, the measure stage is to validate the problem, measure or analyze problems from existing data. Followed by analyze where an analysis of the causes of defective products is carried out using the 5W1H analysis tool. This analysis process uses questions to explore the factors that cause defects. Then improvement where recommendations for improvement are given to reduce the percentage of defective products that occur. Improvement is carried out using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and the Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. And it is processed through control where monitoring is carried out for all repair actions or activities so that they remain stable and in accordance with the desired specification limits. This research was conducted in the second week to the sixth week. From this study, a p control map was obtained, it can be seen that the proportion of defects is within the control limits, only the proportion of production controls in December 2022 is above the normal limit of 0.0578 from 0.0571. The most dominant type of defect is paint spots due to dust with 26% the value of the defect because it has the highest percentage value by calculating the control chart which is still at a value of the proportion of defects below the control limit.
