Abstract
Adaptasi cerpen ke dalam manga dilakukan sejak tahun 1950 yang diawali sebagai wadah untuk orang Jepang belajar sastra dari barat. Adaptasi tidak hanya mengalami perpindahan media, namun banyak aspek dan proses yang dilalui. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bentuk adaptasi yang dialami cerpen Ningen Isu karya Edogawa Ranpo ke dalam manga Ningen Isu karya Junji Ito. Selain itu, data yang digunakan dalam manga adalah dialog dan konteks, sedangkan pada manga adalah dialog dan visualisasinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan strukturalisme untuk menilai adaptasi dari segi unsur intrinsic. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Adaptasi dari Hutcheon, Alih wahana dari Damono. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya temuan 3 aspek adaptasi yaitu, transposisi, apropriasi kreatif, dan intertekstual. Pada transposisi adalah adanya perubahan bentuk (transcoding), perubahan/perluasan makna, dan pergeseran hakikat pada genre. Kedua, ditemukannya re-interpretasi dari genre misteri ke dalam genre horror, re-kreasi ke dalam bentuk komikalisasi, dan pelestarian karya yang dilakukan oleh Junji Ito yang membuat ulang manga Ningen Isu di tahun 2006 berdasarkan cerpen Ningen Isu karya Edogawa Ranpo di tahun 1925. Ketiga, adanya intertekstualitas dalam adaptasi cerpen Ningen Isu ke dalam manga Ningen Isu. Intertekstual dalam manga Ningen Isu karya Junji Ito mengalami penambahan, penciutan dan, perubahan variasi dari sumber teks asli yaitu cerpen Ningen Isu karya Edogawa Ranpo.
