Abstract

Dalam sebuah perusahaan manufaktur, mesin merupakan salah satu elemen terpenting dalam proses produksinya karena kegagalan mesin dapat menghentikan proses produksi. PT. Gunawan Dianjaya Steel ialah perusahaan yang memproduksi baja canai panas. Seluruh kegiatan produksi pelat menggunakan mesin yang beroperasi 24 jam sehari. Hal ini membuat kinerja mesin mengalami penurunan. Mesin produksi sering mengalami breakdown, terutama mesin rolling yang merupakan jantung dari proses produksi pelat di perusahaan dengan tingkat downtime tertinggi. Oleh karena itu, langkah awal untuk meminimalkan downtime dapat dilakukan dengan merawat mesin. Memelihara mesin dilakukan dengan menerapkan Preventive Maintenance untuk memperpanjang usia fasilitas produksi, mengurangi kegagalan mesin, meningkatkan kualitas produksi dan mengurangi downtime dengan melakukan pemeliharaan dan perbaikan kelanjutan terhadap fasilitas produksi. Hasil perhitungan preventive maintenance dengan model distribusi eksponensial dan weibull menunjukan bahwa penggantian roll sebaiknya setiap 6 hari serta perawatan work roll dan back up roll sebaiknya dilakukan setiap 7 dan 10 hari sekali. Keandalan roll, work roll, dan back up roll sebesar 63,21%, 63,21%, dan 92,33%.
