Abstract

Along with the growing development of the manufacturing industry, metals have an important role in the manufacturing industry. In this case steel is the most widely used alloy metal in the manufacturing industry. One type of steel that is often used is SKD 11 steel. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of hardening temperature and cooling medium on the mechanical properties of SKD 11 steel with variations in hardening temperature and cooling media, the temperature used was 950°.950°, 1000° using water cooling medium in the test. at a temperature of 9500 C Holding time 15 Minutes water cooling media has an energy impact and an impact price of E = 10.26 J, HI = 0.128 J/mm2, Holding time/10 Minutes water cooling media has an impact energy and an impact price of E = 7, 31 J, H = 0.091 J/mm2 and holding time of/15 minutes.
