Abstract
Speed traps are several bumps on the highway with the aim that motorists who go through reduced speed for the safety of themselves and other motorists. An idea arose to design a tool that could be used practically as a power plant with a generator used as the main source. The research method for this tool is that when a vehicle passes aspeed trap, the vehicle will step on a mound that can move up and down. Then the up and down motion of the mound will be converted into rotary motion by the rack gear and pinion gear which are under the mound, and then connected to the connecting chain to rotate the generator. The purpose of this research is to convert wasted energy into potential energy and become a renewable alternative energy source as a power plant, and also to know the effect of the specification of the spring constant 9,1 N/mm, 15,8 N/mm, 18,18 N/mm to the distance down the rack gear due to passing loads and gear ratios of 24:14, 28:14, 32:14 to the electric power generated by the generator.
