Abstract

Sexual violence against children and women is a phenomenon that occurs in almost all countries. Therefore the Government of the Republic of Indonesia is making great efforts to overcome cases of sexual violence. In 2022 Sidoarjo Regency there are cases of sexual violence where these cases have increased compared to the previous year. In dealing with sexual violence against children and women in Sidoarjo Regency, there is the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Family Planning (DP3AKB) whose job is to lead, coordinate supervision, evaluate and organize official activities. In 2022 Sidoarjo Regency there are cases of sexual violence where these cases have increased compared to the previous year. Based on Online Information System Data from Women's Protection and Child Protection there were 162 cases from January to December 2022 in Sidoarjo Regency. So that the President of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Joko Widodo, passed a new law namely Undang-Undang Nomor 12 Tahun 2022 Regarding the Crime of Sexual Violence. The aim of the research is to provide prevention, protection, access to justice, and recovery in Sidoarjo Regency which were not optimal before. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The results of this study are to find out the implementation of the new policy made by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, namely the Policy of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Crimes of Sexual Violence in the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Family Planning (DP3AKB) Sidoarjo Regency.
