Abstract

Damage to the pavement layer due to the increasing volume of vehicles and vehicles experiencing Over Dimention Over Load (ODOL) is increasing. Fillers or filling materials that function for cavity fillers, increase the bonding strength of asphalt, improve mixture stability and minimize melt can improve pavement performance. Research by replacing filler material was carried out to find materials that can improve pavement stability, in this case the material used is red brick production waste owned by UD Bata Pres MRH, Mojokerto. Based on the sieve analysis test, the filler material for red brick production waste that passes filter No.200 is 84.77%, where the value has met the specifications for sieve analysis testing on fillers that pass filter No.200 must be not less than 75% of its weight. Meanwhile, based on specific gravity testing, a value of 2.746 was obtained. If reviewed based on the results of marshall testing on AC-BC mixtures using red brick production waste as filler using the requirements of the Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga (Revisi 2) of 2018 for flow with asphalt content of 4.6%, 5.1%, 5.6%, 6.1%, 6.6% respectively has results of 3.40 mm, 3.47 mm, 3.57 mm, 3.73 mm and 3.77 mm, these results have fulfill the specification limits for flow with a minimum of 2 mm and a maximum of 4 mm in the LASTON AC-BC mixture. Based on asphalt grade stability values of 4.6%, 5.1%, 5.6%, 6.1% and 6.6% respectively having values of 1042,47 kg, 1100,63 kg, 1189,72 kg, 1081,24 kg dan 992,90 kg, these results have fulfill the specifications for stability values with a minimum of 800 kg in LASTON AC-BC mixture. So it can be concluded that the use of red brick production waste as filler can be used for the manufacture of road pavements in the AC-BC mixture because it has fulfill the requirements of the Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga (Revisi 2) of 2018.
