Abstract
The goal of this study is to clarify the type of legal protection available for TikTok video content that has been reproduced without the creator's or TikTok's agreement for commercial or personal advantage, with the use of advertising as one example. This is due to the fact that there is still a lack of knowledge regarding how to confront or denounce those who are hostile to intellectual property rights and copyrights and who have injured the inventor, author, or copyright holder. Information technology has an important influence on Intellectual Property Rights, information technology updates that are increasingly developing have a positive impact on Intellectual Property Rights as well. Creators can utilize and use information technology to create works, one example is creating video content on the TikTok application. Human intelligence can produce works in the realms of technology, science, art, and literature that are known as intellectual property and are entitled to legal protection under the provisions of intellectual property rights (IPR), which can be owned by an individual. group or company. Works in the form of moving images or short videos published in the TikTok application are cinematographic works that are protected by the Copyright Act. However, there is currently one bad effect that is becoming more common, namely the abuse of the TikTok application's download feature to retrieve video work content and utilize personal interests in the form of advertisements without anyone's permission. The creator/author/copyright holder may suffer consequences from the guilty party's conduct because they are not compensated in any way and are not even offered an apology.
