Abstract

This study aims to prove and analyze the influence of the internal environment and the external environment on the performance of credit unions’ cooperative society. Object of this research is the savings and credit cooperatives in East Java with a savings and loan cooperative classification healthy, there are 374 respondents as a sample in this research come from the selected members of 12 credit unions in three cities which are Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Malang. The results of this study shown that the external environment significantly influence the internal environment, the external environment have a significant effect on the performance of cooperatives, and the internal environment significantly influence on the performance of cooperatives society
