Abstract

Citizen participation is defined as a form of contribution by citizens who have similar goals and needs to collect decisions that affect their lives. There are many different interpretations of participation. Rural development so far has only been understood in its entirety as development in the economic aspect, meanwhile important things that must also be understood in village development namely democratic and just social life are meant as well asdevelopment that takes place in the village running with the participation of the community indevelopment. This study aims to analyze the influence of community motivation and participation on village development in Sendangrejo Village, Lamongan Regency. This study uses a correlationmodel approach using primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires to research respondents. The sample in this study were 95 Sendangrejo village communities. The samplingtechnique was carried out using the Simple Random Sampling method and the number of samples was calculated using the slovin formula. The data analysis technique used in this studyis multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 24 software. The results of this study indicate that motivation (X1) has a significant effect on the development of Sendangrejo village. Evidenced by the resulting significance value of 0.000 which is smaller than alpha (α) 0.05 and this is the first hypothesis accepted. Community participation has a significant effect on the development of Sendangrejo village. Evidenced bythe resulting significance value of 0.000 which is smaller than alpha (α) 0.05 and this second hypothesis is accepted. As well as motivation and community participation have a significant effect on the development of Sendangrejo village. Evidenced by the resulting significance valueof 0.000 which is smaller than alpha (α) 0.05 and this third hypothesis is accepted. KEYWORDS : MOTIVATION, COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION, VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT
