Abstract
Uncertainty in the amount and timing of consumer demand encourages raw material inventories. And there are incidents of non-fulfillment of raw material needs so that it can hamper the production process. Therefore, companies need good inventory control to maintain smooth production processes. Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is a method used to control the availability of raw material planning in a product. MRP is a better inventory planning and scheduling technique for the units of product produced. The object of this research is the raw materials for wood and iron paint products produced by PT. Mataram paint. The purpose of this study is to minimize the costs incurred by the company so that planning can be carried out by determining the effective lot sizing with the lowest total inventory cost. The lot sizing approach techniques used include: Lot-for-lot (LFL), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Period Order Quantity (POQ) and Fixed Period Requirement (FPR), as well as using the Moving average forecasting method to determine raw material requirements in the past which will be recorded using SPSS software. Based on the results of the smallest MSE calculation, the chosen method is the 3-month Moving Average with 104,185,124. based on the results of the calculation of the MRP method with the Lot sizing approach, namely POQ with a total cost of Rp 23,810,534 for the minimum order of raw materials which is then used as a solution in controlling raw material inventory for paint products at PT.
