Abstract

Sexual education is a skill and knowledge that needs to be given as little as possible to children regarding sexual behavior to deal with things that will happen in the future as they get older and to shape character and patterns of behavior in order to be able to avoid behaviors that are at risk of increasing sexual and deviant sexual behavior. This study aims to determine the meaning of sex education for adolescents in Menur Pumpungan Village, Sukolilo District, Surabaya. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to research. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and summary. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and draws conclusions. This research is reviewed from the theory of symbolic interaction, the theory used in this study is the theory of symbolic interaction from George Herbert Mead. The subjects in this study were Mr. Robiyanto Wahyudi's family, Mr. Muhamad Jumaidi's family and Mr. Hendrik Davidson's family. The object of this research is teenagers aged 14-16 years. The results of this study indicate that the meaning of sex education for adolescents greatly influences their personality, their relationships in order to avoid the problems that have befallen teenagersrecently. Judging from the symbolic interaction, the child's personality and curiosity are formed from his own thoughts (thoughts), the self (self) is formeddue to guidance that teaches the family to children about sex education tips with non-verbal attitudes so that children can take care of themselves without must find out for themselves, the community (society) the role of the community environment is also influential in shaping the child's personality.
