Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi komposisi bahan serbuk kayu jati, serbuk kuningan dengan induk magnesium oxide dan resin polyester terhadap nilai kekerasan dan nilai keausan. Selain itu juga untuk mengetahui variasi komposisi bahan kampas rem yang paling optimal yang mendekati nilai standar kampas rem pembanding merk KGW. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dan analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini terdiri dari beberapa langkah diantaranya preparasi sampel (pencampuran bahan, proses kompaksi, proses sintering), uji kekerasan Shore D dan uji keausan Ogoshi. Material komposit bahan kampas rem ini dibagi menjadi beberapa perbandingan yang berbeda-beda. Dari hasil pengujian nilai kekerasan kampas yang mendekati acuan (KGW) yaitu spesimen 1 dengan variasi perbandingan 1:4 (Kuningan : Serbuk Kayu Jati ) memiliki nilai kekerasan sebesar 71 kgf/n. sedangkan pada spesimen serbuk kuningan : serbuk kayu jati (2:4) memiliki nilai keausan paling besar yaitu 0,000001453 mm2/kg. semakin besar perbandingan serbuk kayu jati terhadap kuningan maka akan mempengaruhi nilai kekerasannya.
