Abstract

The influence of mental health on employees in the workplace has received more attention, because in recent years mental health issues have become a major study in the industrial world. Work stress causes employees to experience work fatigue which then continues to emotional fatigue, so that it will then affect physical fatigue. Furthermore, if work stress lasts a long time and is not handled properly, it is likely to cause burnout. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy in reducing burnout levels in employees of YPI Al-Azhar East Java Branch. The subjects in this study were 20 people who were divided into a control group and an experimental group, each group consisting of 10 people. The data collection tool used is the burnout scale based on the theory of Maslach et al (2001). The results of hypothesis testing using the Mann Whitney U Test obtained a score of z = -2,234 with a significance of p = 0.025. This means that there is significant difference in the decrease in burnout levels in the control and experimental groups. So it can be concluded that Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy is effective in reducing burnout levels in employees. Keywords : Mindfulness Based cognitive Therapy, Burnout, Mental Health, Employee
