Abstract

Burnout is an increase in feelings of emotional exhaustion, the development of negative feelings and behaviors, and the emergence of a negative self-evaluation of work. This study aims to determine 1) the relationship between work commitment and social burnout on teachers 2) the relationship between social support and teacher burnout. The population in this study were 52 teachers of YPKPM Ambon Christian High School. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with data collection through questionnaires. Data analysis technique in this research is Spearman Rho test using work commitment variable, social support variable as independent variable and as related variable is burnout variable. The results of this study indicate that 1) there is a negative relationship between work commitment and burnout, 2) there is a negative relationship between social support and burnout. Based on the hypothesis testing that has been done, the proposed hypothesis can be accepted. This means that the higher the work commitment, the lower the burnout for the teacher and the higher the social support, the lower the burnout for the teacher.
