Abstract

Road is a very important sector that supports all human activities. If the road is supported by good road infrastructure, then the road helps all aspects develop. Because good road infrastructure can advance the transportation system and advance all economic activities, education, defense and national security. Road damage will cause risks for road users so this study aims to identify risk factors for road damage, determine the risk of damage and risk response. The research location is in the temple sub-district which consists of several city to village roads, such as Jl. Raya Perum AL Sugihwaras, Jl. Raya Tenggulunan, Jl. Raya Durung Bedug. Some of the roads have problems with damaged roads with potholes, which hampers access for motorists or local residents due to existing problems and caused by road damage. The Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method is a road pavement condition assessment system based on the type, level and extent of damage that occurs, and can be used as a reference in maintenance efforts, this PCI is based on the results of a survey of visual conditions on roads in Candi District, Sidoarjo. The results showed the average percentage of damage to the Candi District road, including Crocodile Skin Cracks 53.33% total damage 20 points, Edge Cracks 13.33% total damage 5 points, Patches 2.67% total damage 2 points, Holes 1.33% total damage 1 point, Item Release 29.33% total damage 10 points. The pavement condition index value (PCI) for the Candi District Road section, Sidoarjo Regency is 80.80% which is included in the very good category and refers to the PCI matrix the road segment needs to be repaired.
