Abstract

Kemajuan internet saat ini menjadikan pengguna merasakan dunia berada di dalam genggaman. Pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda menyebabkan lonjakan angka dan waktu pada pengguna internet. Pandemi Covid-19 juga telah mengubah kebiasaan masyarakat untuk terus terhubung secara online baik urusan pekerjaan/sekolah hingga penghilang jenuh. Meskipun saat ini telah memasuki peralihan ke new normal, masyarakat khususnya individu dewasa masih menjadikan internet sebagai media “healing”. Problematic Internet Use merupakan perilaku maladaptive yang muncul akibat penggunaan internet berlebihan pada pengguna dan menjadi permasalahan yang marak ditemui pada individu dewasa saat ini. Penanganan Problematic Internet Use dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa alternatif intervensi, salah satunya Teknik mindfulness. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitasan pelatihan mindfulness dalam mengurangi tingkat PIU pada individu dewasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-experimental design (quasi eksperimen) dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian yang terlibat yaitu 8 orang dewasa berusia 24-27 tahun, bekerja/kuliah online, menggunakan internet >3jam/hari dan memiliki tingkat PIU yang tinggi menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan mindfulness dapat mengakomodasi penurunan Problematic Internet Use dengan perolehan nilai t hitung sebesar 4.675 dan nilai p sebesar 0.002 (p<0.05) pada uji paired sample t-test. Pengujian berikutnya menemukan tidak terdapat perbedaan penurunan PIU dengan jenis kelamin laki-laki dan perempuan diperoleh dari pengujian independent sample t-test dengan sig sebesar p=0.599 (p>0.05).
