Abstract

Air contains oxygen which is needed for survival. But besides oxygen, there are also several other gaseous substances in the air such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and others. The main factor causing poor indoor air quality is not smooth air circulation, as well as human activities which are often considered normal but can cause air pollution. In addition, indoor air quality is also influenced by air coming from outside the room entering through air vents. Therefore, the development in this research was carried out by adding air quality data monitoring features through the Internet of Things (IoT) platform. Using the MQ-135 sensor as a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) detector and smoke detector, also adding a DHT11 sensor to monitor the temperature and humidity of the indoor air. The test results of the MQ-135 sensor precision with the Air Quality Meter A80 with the largest error 0.5% and the lowest 0% with an average error of 0.3% and a total precision of 99.7%. The test results from the precision of the DHT11 sensor which reads the temperature using the Air Quality Meter A80 with an error value of 0%. with an average error of 0% and a total precision of 100%. The test results from the precision of the DHT11 sensor which reads air humidity with the Air Quality Meter A80 with the highest error value of 0.2% and the lowest error of 0.1%.
