Abstract

The development of information technology has changed peopel’s habits in buying and selling transactions. The habit of people who previously made buying and selling transactions directly or face to face, is now slowly turning into a new style namely buying and selling transactions via the internet or electronic transaction, but this condition is very beneficial for consumers, because consumers are easier to get good that purchased but on the other hand a violation of consumer right such as the right to information is very risk, therefore legal protection is needed for consumers in electronic transaction. Considering that electronic transaction are online transactions without meeting in person, the formulation of the problem in the researcher is how is the legal protection for consumers for information rights in electronic transaction?, how are legal protection efforts if consumers are harmed? This research used normative juridicial which was carried out with a statutory and conceptual approach. Collection technique by means of literature study to analyze source related to the problem. Conclusions from research on consumers right, especially the fulfillment of the right to correct information, are still often ignored by business actors and consumer protection regulated in the law on consumer protection has not been able to run properly. In article 19 paragraph (1) UUPK. If the business actor is reluctant to take responsibility, the dispute resolution process can be carried out through the court or out of court, this provision is regulated in the UUPK.
