Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of Activity Based Costing in determining the cost of inpatient rates at Gotong Royong Hospital. By applying this method, it will be easier to make decisions in determining hospitalization costs. This research design uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Analysis of research data using data collection with interviews and documentation. The interview method was used to find out in-depth information about hospital inpatient costs, with the question: what method has been used in determining the cost of hospitalization at Gotong Royong Hospital in Surabaya in 2021?. The documentation method is used to determine the costs associated with inpatient rooms. Based on the results of this study, it shows that the cost of inpatient rooms using the Activity Based Costing method for VVIP class is Rp. 672,183, for VIP class is Rp. 619,204.75, for class I is Rp. 615,801.89, for class II is Rp. 548,266.97. lower price. While the inpatient room fee rate for class III is Rp. 513,757 which results in a more expensive price using the Activity Based Costing method. Meanwhile, the difference for each VVIP class is IDR 523,047; for the VIP class of Rp. 430.795.25; for class I, Rp. 184,198.11; for class II of Rp. 31,733.03, the cost of inpatient rooms at the Gotong Royong Hospital in Surabaya is more expensive (overcosted) and for class III it is Rp. 143,757. So far, Gotong Royong Hospital in Surabaya has calculated the cost of the cost of a smaller inpatient room (undercosted).
