Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the people who consume tempe in Nginden Jangkungan Village, Sukolilo and measure the magnitude of the community’s response to changes in tempe prices in Nginden Jangkungan Village, Sukolilo. The type and source of data used in this study are primary data obtained from the distribution of questionnaires to household tempe demand in Nginden Jangkungan Village and secondary data obtained from Nginden Jangkungan Village. It can be concluded that the independent variables of tempe price, number of families, and income level together affect the dependent variable of household tempe demand in Nginden Jangkungan Village, Sukolilo. The results obtained from the calculation of the price elasticity of tempe is Rp 1.381, which means it is elastic and price a increase of Rp. 1.000. The variables of this study include the price of tempe (X1), number of families (X2), income level (X3) and demand for tempe (Y). The sample in this study amounted to 98 respondents who were taken through a simple random sample random sample using the Slovin formula. The analytical method used is multiple linier regression analysis with the help of the SPSS 22 program. Suggestions that can be concluded from the results of regression calculations which state that the price of tempe, the number of families, and the level of income together have a significant effect on the demand for tempe in Nginden Jangkungan Village, Sukolilo.
