Abstract
This research is motivated by the existence of police who are still aggressive in carrying out their duties , especially in dealing with problems . This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional maturity and mass communication with the aggressiveness of the police of the East Java Police mass control unit . This study is a quantitative study with a total of 152 subjects . Sampling technique using Purposive Sampling . Based on the calculation of the results of data analysis using Spearman Brown , the rho correlation coefficient between emotional maturity and aggressiveness == 0.403 at p = 0.000 ( p < 0.01 ) which means there is a very significant negative relationship between emotional maturity and aggressiveness , so the hypothesis is accepted . While the results of Spearman Brown's analysis also produced a rho correlation between mass communication and aggressiveness -0.423 at p = 0.000 ( p < 0.01 ) which means that there is a very significant negative relationship between mass communication and aggressiveness , so the hypothesis is accepted . As a result , the higher the emotional maturity and mass communication possessed by the East Java Police's mass control unit , the lower the aggressiveness . The implications of the results of this study provide information that aggressiveness can be prevented if each member of the police has emotional maturity and good mass communication skills .
