Abstract
The tendency of self-injury behavior is an action that tends to lead to self- injury behavior without any suicidal intentions, aiming to vent expressions that come from psychological stress or to relieve emotional pain. One of the causes if the emergences of this tendency for self-injury behavior is due to the lack of support that is obtained after parents divorce, so that adolescents have a tendency to self-injury behavior in adolescents from disvorced parents. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social support and the tendency of self- injury behavior in adolescents form disvorced parents. The characteristics of the subjects in this study were adolescents aged 16-17 years, class XI, had tried to do self-injury, and exprerienced divorced or parental separation. The population in this study were students of SMA 17 August 1945 Surabaya (SMATAG) totaling 199 students. The sample in this study amounted to 62 students. The sampling techique in this study was done by purposive sampling. The sampling method in this study used a Likert scale, in the form of a self-injury tendency scale and a social support scale. The data analysis technique use Spearman’s Rho nonparametric correlation with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 24 for Windows. Based on the calculation of the Spearman’s Rho correlation, in this study the value of rxy = 0,320 with p = 0,011 (p<0,05). Event thoug the result is p < 0,05 the correlation value is positive at 0,320 so this hyphotesis is rejected. There is a negative relationship between social support and the tendency of self-injury behavior in adolescents form rejected divorced parents.
